AN INTRODUCTION

 

        CIBACS, (Center for International Business and Communication Studies) is a 4-year business program offered at Edison High School to help students utilize valuable business skills. It teaches us students techniques in advertising, communication, presentation skills and public speaking, and teamwork. This program benefits students that plan on creating his or her own business, or working for one in the future. 

        When I started off as a freshman in this program, I remember distinctly being scared to death for making a simple minute-long presentation about myself. As the years in CIBACS go by, it becomes easier and easier to speak professionally, under pressure, and in front of groups of people. This program taught me to build off of feedback received from peers, instructors, and judges.

        As I began to get more involved in CIBACS, I have learned that it is almost a second family to me. We grow up with each other, learn from our mistakes, and most of all have fun at the same time. So far, for both my freshman and sophomore years, I have won an award for having the best overall group presentation, and hope to do so in the future.
